sounds and images

This video was absolutely amazing!!! I don't know if it was because I love music and enjoy pictures, or if t was just genious, (I'd like to think it was both) but it was very entertaining to watch.
My favorite piece was by Ralph Steiner, H2O. This was a piece were the soundtrack played while clips of water were being seen. The way that the piece was put together was perfect. The music matched up with the water right on que. In some scenes, the water would portray soundwaves. It was so eye catching. Scenes were at places such as the forest, streams, rain, fountains, etc. There is one scene in particular that I can remember, where the water is dripping from a dock, and the way that the reflection from the light moves and the drops fall, along with the water was just so calming.
I don't know how long this piece took to put together, but it was fantastic!!!

This is a crappy piece of it, but it is the only one I could find.

DADA!!!!!!

I really enjoyed the dada videos. It really influenced me to become more random and unrepresentational in my work. I loved the quick clip of all the pictures flashing with "dada" sound coming in randomly. Sorry that was so messy, i just didn't know how to write it and explain it in words. EEK!! Doing the Dada assignment helped me to realize the importance of size and placement of an object, even if it is a random piece of work. Size and placement can be really huge in determining whether a piece of work is good or fantastic!

That is what I learned about dada.

The Lecture

So, due to my lack of vitamins and sleep, I wasn't able to make the lecture on thurs. Yes, sick! However, my friend Ernesto went to it and managed to call me up afterwards to let me know how it went. He said that he was mostly disappointed because the guy didn't talk more about his sound. Ernesto said that he only touched on it about the last 10 min. of his presentation.
Since I don't have any details or oppinions on my own referring to the lecture, I thought that I would describe how I was feeling. EXHAUSTED, that is the word to put for it. However, I've never been exhausted to the point of throwing up due to lack of water and proper vitamins. I wanted to go further into detail on what this throwup looked like, but I will spare all of you guys. It was mostly liquids anyways. You aren't missing much...I promise! I pretty much just spent the whole day laying in my bed in the fetal position, praying to God that I get better to enjoy my weekend.
Finally, after drinking a lot of juice and water, and eating a lot of soup, and ice cream, I am better...for the most party anyways.
Just a little words to the wise: Don't try to take on everything life throws at you at once. If you are too busy, don't cut out meals or sleep to make time to get things done. If anything, cut down on your extra curricular activities.
